Volkswagen Virtus 1.5 TSI Manual Launched At A Price Of Rs 16.89 Lakh
Volkswagen has finally introduced a six-speed manual transmission option for the Virtus sedan’s 1.5 TSI versions. The Volkswagen Virtus 1.5 TSI Manual manual costs Rs 16.89 lakh ex-showroom. The company has also introduced new GT Plus variants of the Taigun SUV with manual and DSG automatic transmissions, with prices starting at Rs 17.79 lakh ex-showroom.
Volkswagen has also created distinctive exterior paint hue options for the Virtus and Taigun ranges to keep the line-up fresh in the face of newer competition in their respective niches.
The Volkswagen Virtus 1.5 TSI Manual, which was previously only available in a single fully-loaded trim with a 7-speed DCT transmission, now has a six-speed manual gearbox option. The Virtus now has the same powertrain lineup as its sister vehicle, the Skoda Slavia, and, more crucially, makes the 1.5 TSI engine more accessible to a wider audience.
The Virtus now has two gearbox options for both engines, with the six-speed manual being standard for the 115hp, 1.0 TSI and 150hp, 1.5 TSI engines. The torque converter automatic gearbox is standard on the 1.0 TSI automatic.
Along with the Virtus GT MT, the Taigun 1.5 TSI now has a manual gearbox option with the GT Plus specification, which was previously only available with the DSG automatic transmission. Furthermore, the cheaper GT trim for the 1.5 TSI engine now includes the DSG automatic, which was previously exclusively available with the manual transmission. This expands the number of versions possible with the more powerful engine, allowing for a broader appeal.
Volkswagen has also introduced the GT Edge Limited Collection, which includes the Taigun GT Plus DSG and GT Plus MT in two new paint colours: Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey matte. Deep Black Pearl paint is also available for the Virtus GT Plus DSG and GT Plus MT. According to the brand, they can only be reserved online and will be manufactured on a made-to-order basis. The first deliveries will take place next month.
