TVS has announced that they will be increasing production of Norton motorcycles. The company was acquired by TVS for a whopping Rs 153 Crores, read more about it here.
Norton Motorcycles is a Castle Donington based company with a rich legacy but was caught up in financial problems in January 2020. TVS has not taken up any of the liabilities and has made it into a different entity and will be run by a separate management team. They have appointed a new CEO for Norton Motorcycles, John Russel, former MD of Harley-Davidson Europe.
Norton will manufacture their motorcycles in the UK to retain it’s Brand’s identity and heritage, but will be moving to a new location as the lease for it’s current facility is expiring in six months. TVS is also planning to sell motorcycles from Norton in India in the coming years.
