Triumph has issued a recall for the Tiger 1200, Street Triple RS and Speed Triple RS Over Faulty Brake Pads.
The National Highway Transport Safety Administration (NHTSA) in USA has found that the Brembo brake pads being used in these motorcycles have a high amount of Nickel in them, which can lead to a increase in water and salt absorption. This phenomenon can lead to the brake pads getting corroded very fast and lead to the brake pads falling off the back-plate without any warnings and may lead to a fatal accident.
Due to this, Triumph has issued a recall and will be replacing the brake pads for free, the motorcycles affected are the ones that were manufactured between 2018 and 2020. Triumph has not announced the date of recall due to the ongoing Covid-19 lockdown. The recall will only be applicable to the motorcycles sold in the US, there is no news whether the motorcycles in India or anywhere else around the world have been affected or not.
To know whether your motorcycle is affected or not, you can also visit the NHTSA’s official site and go to the recall section here and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for more information.
