Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300 Bookings Started
Toyota has begun taking reservations for the brand-new Land Cruiser LC300 in India, and according to dealer sources, the deposit is set at Rs 10 lakh. Due to the Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300’s widespread availability and great demand, there is already a long waiting list of up to three years in some areas. However, sources tell us that it may take a little over a year to deliver to India. The new LC300 will be marketed in India as a completely imported unit, much like its predecessor, the LC200.
Due to great demand and a chip scarcity, the new Land Cruiser 300’s introduction in our market was postponed until 2021. While there are already a few privately imported cars, retailers have just begun taking reservations for Toyota’s newest flagship SUV.
In terms of appearance, the Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300 is clearly a Land Cruiser. A sizable, heavily chromed grille with horizontal slats and reworked headlights with vents underneath are among the design’s standout features. The Land Cruiser 300’s side profile is squarish like that of its predecessor, with broad, squared-off wheel arches and a noticeable kink in the window line. Slimmer taillamps and a new tailgate and rear bumper design are added to the back. There are a total of five color variations and three upholstery choices available for the Land Cruiser 300 in India: beige, black, and a red/black dual-tone option.
The inside has an entirely new arrangement, and the 12.3-inch touchscreen, which now has Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 14-speaker JBL audio system, is the pièce de résistance. According to dealer sources, the India-spec Toyota Land Cruiser 300 would only be offered as a 5-seater, unlike the vehicle marketed internationally, which has a 7-seat configuration option.
The ladder-frame structure, one of the Land Cruiser’s USPs, is still present in the new Land Cruiser 300, which is built on the new GA-F platform that is based on TNGA. Two engines are available for the LC300 internationally: a new 409 horsepower, 3.5-liter twin-turbo petrol V6, and a 305 horsepower, 3.3-liter diesel engine. Both engines are mated to 10-speed automated transmissions. But for now, the Indian model will only be offered with a diesel engine.
The 32-degree approach angle for the Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300 is the same as for its predecessor. Depending on the model, the departure angle can be as high as 26.5 degrees, and the ground clearance is 230mm. The new Land Cruiser 300 features 4×4 as standard, just like its predecessors, but it now has a more sophisticated Multi-Terrain Select system that includes Deep Snow and Auto modes, as well as a Multi-Terrain Monitor system that receives an underbody camera. It also receives an updated control system that keeps the SUV moving at a constant speed when being driven off-road.
Although dealers have begun taking reservations, the price of the SUV is yet unknown, but we anticipate it to be in the neighborhood of Rs 2 crore. However, Toyota has said that the Land Cruiser 300 will come with a 3-year/1,000-mile guarantee. The Land Cruiser 300 will likely enter our market in the upcoming months and compete with vehicles like the Land Rover Range Rover.
