Toyota Innova Hycross MPV Leaked
Toyota just unveiled the first teaser for the next Innova Hycross (known as the Innova Zenix in Indonesia), and now we have 3D images of the three-row MPV in our possession. The Toyota Innova Hycross employs the same family-style design as the company’s lineup of SUVs and crossovers sold worldwide, but the most surprising aspect of the 3D renderings is that it will be the first Innova to include a panoramic sunroof.
The Innova Hycross’ sheet metal is visible in the leaked 3D renderings. A flat, upright bonnet with more pronounced creases will be featured on the next three-row MPV. Wraparound headlamps with L-shaped inserts flank a massive, trapezoidal grille that dominates the nose. The grille also features a black, contrasting accent. Large triangular housings for the fog lamps are added to the front bumper.
With the exception of the new rear quarter glass area, the Hycross will have a similar silhouette and glasshouse to the existing Innova Crysta from a profile perspective. The surfacing is basic, just like the present model, but it has a noticeable crease over the back doors and fender. The panoramic sunroof, a highly desired feature among Indian consumers, is the main takeaway.
However, these 3D renderings do not provide us a peek at the MPV’s rear appearance, despite earlier spy images showing an upright tailgate and taillamps that are horizontally positioned.
The Toyota Innova Hycross will be slightly bigger than the existing Innova Crysta in terms of length and wheelbase, coming in at about 4.7 meters overall.
The Toyota Innova Hycross, as previously reported, would be supported by Toyota’s modular TNGA-C monocoque platform and offered with front-wheel drive, marking a significant shift from the ladder-frame foundation and rear-wheel drive configuration seen on all Innovas to date. The Hycross will be able to achieve a flat floor at the back thanks to the monocoque architecture, which will free up additional room.
Similar to the Hyryder midsize SUV, the Innova Hycross will have two petrol engine choices: a naturally aspirated petrol and a petrol-hybrid unit. More significantly, the Innova Hycross won’t be available with a diesel engine, which again represents a significant change for its main target market.
The interior of the Hycross is unknown, although previous spy images showed a sizable floating touchscreen infotainment system. With features like a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and even an “ottoman function” for the captain seats in the second row, it’s also anticipated to see an improvement in quality and equipment over the present model. Additionally, it will still be available in a variety of seating arrangements.
In Indonesia, where it will probably be known as the “Innova Zenix,” the Innova Hycross is anticipated to make its debut sometime in the second part of November 2022. By the beginning of next year, prices for the Innova Hycross in India should be announced. The Innova Crysta, which is only now offered with a petrol engine option, will be sold alongside it. It’s significant that the Innova Hycross will also produce a Maruti-derived vehicle.
