Toyota Hyryder Launched At A Price Of INR 15.11 Lakh
Hyryder, a new midsize SUV from Toyota, has been released with pricing beginning at Rs 15.11 lakh and up to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Toyota has only released pricing for the top four variants—the strong- and mild-hybrid AWD models—so far. Prices for the other mild-hybrid varieties will be revealed gradually.
Bookings for the new SUV are already beginning for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000. The Grand Vitara, a midsize SUV manufactured by Maruti, is also anticipated to go on sale soon.
The Hyryder’s thin double-layer Daytime Running Lights, which seamlessly integrate into the “Crystal Acrylic” grille from the front, is its most distinctive feature. It has a typical SUV on the side, and the powerful hybrid models have large Hybrid emblems on the door. Simultaneous C-shaped taillights that extend into the tailgate and have two C-shaped LED components are present at the back. Toyota offers the Hyryder in four dual-tone and seven single-tone exterior paint colours.
In comparison to previous Maruti Suzuki and Toyota vehicles like the Baleno, Glanza, and the new Brezza, the Hyryder’s dashboard has a layout that is not dissimilar. Toyota chose a black and brown colour scheme for the cabin, which not only looks new and different from the customary beige. But keep in mind that the brown and black combination is only available with the potent hybrid powerplant. Instead, the mild-hybrid cars’ interiors will feature a monochromatic design.
For a midsize SUV, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is the first to have powerful hybrid technology. It is equipped with an eCVT transmission and Toyota’s 1.5-liter TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine, which has 92 horsepower and 122 pound-feet of torque. The engine is coupled with an electric motor that has a combined output of 114 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque.
According to Toyota, the robust hybrid power plant has a stated fuel economy of 27.97kpl and receives a 177.6V lithium-ion battery.
Maruti Suzuki will also provide a mild hybrid engine for the Hyryder. It is powered by the same 1.5-litre K15C engine that is featured in the new Brezza, XL6, and Ertiga models. The 103 horsepower and 137 Nm torque “Neo Drive” motor is mated to either a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox or a 5-speed manual gearbox.
AWD is an option for the mild hybrid powertrain mated to the 5-speed manual transmission. It is now the sole SUV in its class to offer AWD, while not being the first midsize SUV to do so (the now-discontinued Renault Duster had an AWD option for a period).
In its top configuration, the Toyota Hyryder has amenities like a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and more.
As previously noted, reservations for the midsize SUV are already being accepted for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000. Toyota offers a 3-year/1,000,000-kilometer warranty that may be extended to 5-year/220,000-kilometer coverage. The powerful hybrid battery comes with an additional 8-year/160,000 km guarantee from the automaker.
Along with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Toyota Hyryder’s main rivals include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
