Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge To launch In India Soon
The new Ghost Black Badge will be available in India in the coming months, according to Rolls-Royce. The Ghost Black Badge, which was revealed in October of last year, receives re-tuned mechanicals to offer improved driving dynamics, as well as darker styling elements.
Sangwook Lee, Rolls-regional Royce’s sales manager – Asia Pacific, confirmed the launch of the second-generation Ghost Black Badge. When asked about Rolls-performance Royce’s in the Indian market, Lee stated that the company was “seeing positive signs of a rebound with increasing customer interest.”
To begin with, the new Ghost Black Badge, like the first-generation model’s Black Badge, features darkened cosmetic elements – such as the chrome grille and Spirit of Ecstasy – and rides on bespoke 21-inch composite wheels. According to Rolls Royce, customers can choose from up to 44,000’ready-to-wear’ exterior colors for the luxury sedan or create a bespoke color entirely.
Inside, the cabin receives darker finished trimmings and wood veneers all around.
In terms of mechanicals, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge receives a more powerful 6.75-liter V12 engine than the standard Ghost. Power and torque are increased to 600hp and 900Nm, respectively, from 571hp and 850Nm on the standard Ghost. The unit also receives a custom throttle map, and suspension, all-wheel drive, and all-wheel steering have been retuned to improve driving dynamics and reduce body-roll during hard cornering.
In addition, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge receives a new ‘Low’ drive mode that sharpens driving functions such as gearshifts from the 8-speed automatic gearbox and exhaust note tweaks.
The second-generation Ghost was priced from Rs 6.95 crore when it debuted in 2020. (ex-showroom). Expect Rolls-Royce to charge a premium for the Black Badge over the standard model.
