One E-Scooter Delivery To Commence From June
Simple Energy has announced that deliveries of its One e-scooter will begin in June. The electric 2-wheeler costs Rs. 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Bengaluru-based electric vehicle (EV) company is taking reservations for the scooter and has set the token price at Rs. 1947/-. So far, the company claims to have received 30,000 orders for its initial product.
The Simple One, which has a 7-inch touchscreen dash that supports smartphone connectivity and navigation and has a sharp design language, is available in four colors: Azure Blue, Brazen Black, Grace White, and Namma Red.
The scooter’s total battery capacity is 4.8 kWh, which is divided into fixed and removable modules. Charging the fixed battery pack takes 165 minutes and charging the portable pack takes 75 minutes.
The One EV weighs 110 kg and is powered by a 7 kW (9.34 BHP) electric motor that generates 72 torques. It has a top speed of 105 km/h and a range of 203 km in ‘Eco’ mode (up to 50 km/h). The scooter’s other ride modes, with an IDC range of 236 km, are ‘Ride,’ ‘Dash,’ and ‘Sonic.’
While Simple One deliveries will begin in June, the e-scooter will be manufactured at the company’s new facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. In the coming weeks, the first phase of the factory’s construction will be completed.
When fully operational, the plant will be able to produce 10 lakh electric vehicles per year. The second manufacturing facility for Simple Energy will be built in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu.
