Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 4Matic Launched At INR 2.43 Crore
The Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 4Matic was released in India at Rs 2.43 crore base price (ex-showroom, India). It is the first luxury SUV from Maybach to be sold worldwide and is changing a series over the basic GLS. Although the specific number of units allotted to India has not been confirmed to Mercedes, the company has confirmed that all 50+ units have already been ordered for 2021. In the first quarter of 2022, the following batch is scheduled. The Maybach GLS will compete like the Bentayga and the Range Rover.
The interior is the main focus of the GLS. But Nappa Leather, combined with distinctive carving inserts and finishing for a higher quality feel, is the core design of the dashboard. Maybach also has unique graphs and functionalities in the twin 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and touchscreen. However, the major alteration is in the back. The third row has been removed while the second row is shifted back to release additional space, in order to be a chauffeur’s driven SUV. The Maybach GLS is standard as a 5-seater — the two outside seats may be reclined and are supplied with calf leans, electrically operated.
With the Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 4Matic moving on to the exterior, the standard derivation differentiates cosmetically. Besides Maybach louvers, the GLS is chrome free of charge and is fitted on bigger 22-inch wheels, as standard, the Maybach GLS employs chrome more freely than the ordinary GLS. The Maybach also has the D-pillar emblem and may be used in two-tone paint systems.
The Maybach GLS is equipped with a lengthy list of products which include four-zone climate control, extended side steps automatically, a sunroof panorama, adaptive air suspension, front and rear seats with memory function heated and vented with massaging front and rear seats, a chauffeur pack to adjust the co-driver seat from back, a rear in-car control tablet, and a 360 deg in-car functions.
The Safety Kit included eight airbags, ABS, ESP, lane maintenance, blind sports aid, active braking, and steering aid, and pneumatically controlled pneumatically control.
Buyers also have a wide range of options including an active air suspension E-Active BodyControl, folding rear tables, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, the above-mentioned energy-adjustable single rear seats, a chilled compartment, a flute champagne holder, a head-up display, and more. Available on-site are also available.
The GLS and Maybach are also differentiated under the bonnet. The Maybach GLS is offered in India with a base six-cylinder engine and is outfitted with a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo, 48V mild-hybrid system. With a torque of 557hp and 730 Nm, the 48V system provides a further 22hp and 250Nm boost on request. The 9-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels.
Mercedes claims the Maybach GLS comes with air suspension and powertrain models to increase the comfort of the back seat passengers.
Mercedes is still in a position to start several lances before the year’s end after the Maybach GLS, with the automaker in this calendar year planning to produce 15 items. The new S-Klasse flagship and the high-performance Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series will be part of the next debuts by the company. The new Maybach S-Class is in the cards as well. The company recently revealed its new direct sales concept for both the Indian market and the consumer.
