Land Rover Defender V8 Unveiled
Land Rover reported plans for a fully electric version of the Defender last week. And now the Land Rover Defender V8 has been revealed.
The Land Rover Defender V8 in question is a 5.0-liter petrol supercharged unit that produces 518bhp and 461lb-ft of torque. On the Range Rover Sport SVR figures, that’s marginally down, but still enough to accelerate 0-60mph in 4.9sec and a top speed of 149mph.
To boost its cornering composure and agility, the Defender V8 also gets special suspension tuning and an electronic active rear differential. Plus, there is a new Dynamic driving mode, which sharpens the responses of the accelerator and steering, tightens body control further, and ramps up the engine volume.
Quad exhausts, dark grey, 22-inch alloy wheels, and light blue brake calipers are visual details that mark the V8 from lesser Defenders. Meanwhile, the seats are leather and suede upholstered inside, the steering wheel and gear lever are trimmed with Alcantara, and the dashboard has a black satin finish.
The Land Rover Defender V8 has no news of making it to our shores anytime in the near future. However, Land Rover here sells the regular Defender.
The Land Rover Defender 110 the model year 2021 is priced from Rs 80.56 lakh for the ‘Base’ 2.0-liter petrol trim and tops out for the 3.0-liter mild-hybrid diesel Defender X at Rs 1.08 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India).
Land Rover will launch deliveries of the lighter, three-door Defender 90 only later this year, as due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this unique body type has been postponed worldwide. Prices range from Rs 73.98 lakh to Rs 1.08 crore for the 2021 Defender 90.
