Kia Carens Luxury (O) Launched At A Price Of Rs 17 Lakh
For the Carens, Kia has introduced a new trim level called Luxury (O), with prices starting at Rs. 17 lakhs and rising to Rs. 17.70 lakhs. This comes after Kia India updated the Carens lineup to support RDE-compliant engines more than a fortnight ago.
The new Kia Carens trim sits in between the Luxury and Luxury Plus trims, the top two trim levels. A sunroof and ambient lighting that adjusts depending on the drive mode features it boasts over the Luxury trim. The Luxury (O) trim is only offered as a 7-seater, as opposed to the Luxury trim, which is also offered in a 6-seat configuration.
However, the Luxury (O) lacks amenities found in the top-of-the-line Carens Luxury Plus, like an eight-speaker Bose audio system, paddle shifters, and even ventilated front seats.
There are many security and comfort features on the Carens Luxury (O). The Luxury (O) is equipped with driver, passenger, and curtain airbags in addition to ABS, ESC, and hill-start assist, the same as all other Carens models. All four wheels, which also include 16-inch crystal cut alloy wheels, have disc brakes, and all seats have 3-point seatbelts.
The Kia Carens Luxury (O)’s interior features a leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustments. Both the first and second rows of cupholders in this trim are chilled. This specification also has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, five USB C-type chargers distributed around the MPV, four speakers, two tweeters, and the infotainment system.
Some manual gearboxes were recently replaced with iMT gears as part of a model line-up reorganisation due to the new RDE regulations. The new Luxury (O) trim is only offered in an automatic setup; an iMT is not an option. While the 116 horsepower, 1.5-liter diesel is paired with a 6-speed AT, the 1.5-liter turbo-petrol is offered with a 7-speed DCT that can deliver 160 horsepower and 253 Nm.
Priced at Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom), the 1.5 litre turbo-petrol has a 7-speed DCT, while the 1.5 litre diesel has a 6-speed AT and costs Rs 17.70 lakh. (ex-showroom).
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Maruti Suzuki XL6 are competitors of the Kia Carens. Despite being significantly more expensive than both Marutis, the Kia Carens also comes with more equipment and a more potent engine.
