Honda Cars India Launched Its New SUV For 2023
The first teaser for Honda’s future SUV for India has finally been made public. According to the brand, the long-awaited new SUV will make its debut in the summer of 2023. As we previously mentioned, the launch of this Honda SUV is anticipated for the 2023 holiday season.
The future SUV’s silhouette can be seen in Honda Car India’s lone social media post. However, the teaser does provide some intriguing information regarding the SUV’s design. An upright nose and grille with wide wraparound headlamps, a multi-slat grille with a large Honda badge sitting up front, LED daytime running lights positioned above the headlamps, and possibly a connected DRL theme, similar to those seen on the Kia Seltos, are the first features of this SUV designed for India.
Additionally, it is certain that the SUV will resemble a coupe and feature a tapering roof. In order to give it a tough aspect, it will also have huge wheels and hefty cladding on the wheel arches.
Although the SUV depicted in the teaser does resemble the Honda HR-V sold abroad, there are key aesthetic elements that indicate this is an entirely separate model. The front bumper has a distinctive appearance and appears to receive a separate air dam, a fake skid plate, and a set of oblong fog lamps. The wheel arches, which are more angular than the round ones on the HR-V and serve as the second and most significant point of differentiation, confirm that the body panels on this SUV will be distinct from those on the HR-V.
A revised version of the platform utilized by the Amaze in India will serve as the foundation for Honda’s upcoming midsize SUV, which will measure between 4.2 and 4.3 meters in length.
The 121 horsepower, 1.5-liter, normally aspirated petrol engine from the fifth-generation City will power the forthcoming Honda midsize SUV. Honda will also make available the City e:1.5-liter HEV’s strong-hybrid petrol engine. The 1.5-liter NA petrol engine’s 5-speed manual and CVT transmission and the strong-e-drive hybrid’s transmission are the only available transmissions for these two powertrains in India.
According to sources, this new SUV would focus on India and make its debut in this country by April or May of this year. There won’t be a pricing announcement until this year’s holiday season. When it debuts, it will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder, both of which offer powerful hybrid alternatives, as well as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun in one of the most competitive segments. According to our sources, this new Honda SUV will be very localized, therefore we can anticipate competitive pricing.
