Hero Karizma XMR To Launch Soon

The Hero Honda Karizma had a huge fanbase during its height. The 223cc engine at its core and the big-bike styling inspired by the VFR was largely responsible. Nevertheless, despite Hero’s efforts to maintain the model following the breakup with Honda, the later ZMR incarnation of the Karizma never truly took off and was finally consigned to oblivion.

But recently, rumors about the Karizma nametag making a reappearance have been growing, and they are now accompanied by some concrete evidence. Hero has submitted two trademark applications, which not only point to the Karizma’s impending comeback but also provide some insight into the bike’s characteristics.

The new bike is most likely to go by the full name Hero Karizma XMR, which is the subject of the first trademark. The second trademark, Karizma XMR 210, goes a bit further. It is doubtful that this is anything other than Karizma’s displacement figure. Other than this number, not much is known about the engine, however, there are a few options.

Hero’s Xpulse 200 models already include a 200cc oil-cooled, 4-valve engine that is quite powerful. This engine may be used as a starting point for the Karizma, with the bore and/or stroke being increased to attain the 210cc displacement number. There are, however, rumors that Hero is creating a 210cc liquid-cooled engine, especially for the new Karizma.

The Karizma was once without a doubt the fastest and most competent bike in Hero Honda’s inventory. It’s possible that Hero is adopting the same tactic this time around and equipping the bike with a new high-tech engine to accomplish this. Only time will tell.

Another thing that can be assumed with certainty is that the Karizma XMR, like the former ZMR, will almost definitely be a fully-faired motorbike. It remains to be seen if it will be a genuine sportbike like the KTM RC 200 or more of a sport tourer like the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250.
