Citroen C5 Aircross Facelift Unveiled
The year 2022 is about to open its gold chest, and we’re all in for a treat. Almost all automakers have their 2022 facelifts planned and ready to make a splash in the market. Citroen is one such brand that is primed for a comeback. The French automaker has revealed the 2022 Facelifted Citroen C5 Aircross with only 10 days left in the year. In terms of design and functionality, the new car significantly outperforms the previous generation model. The changes are like splashes of modernism that make the car look current and powerful.
The Citroen C5 Aircross facelift SUV looks nothing like the current model. When it comes to the front, the split headlights and DRLs are no longer present. The DRLs are now built into the headlamps. The front bumper has also been redesigned, and it now has a more masculine appearance. It has a larger bottom air intake and larger, more sculpted air vents just below the headlamps. The front diffuser is narrow and has chrome inserts. The fog lamps are located on the diffuser at the bottom of the bumper.
The front also has twin light bars that run across the car’s nose and connect the two headlights. These lights feature a broken pattern with the Citroen logo in the centre. This new logo is surrounded by chrome and has a black lacquer background. Along the side, the appearance is very similar to that of the previous-generation model. The slim wheel arches and side skid plates are still present, but they now have chrome inserts. The C-shaped chrome insert around the windows is still visible. The wheels, which have been upgraded to 18-inch diamond-cut alloys, are a significant difference. The rear has a similar appearance, with the exception of slightly altered taillamps.
We also get to see some significant changes on the inside. We get a new 10-inch infotainment system, and the air conditioning vents are relocated beneath the touchscreen. We get a fully digital cockpit as well as touch capacitive HVAC controls. A small switch on the centre console replaces the bulky gear leaver. Seats now have heating and massage functions, as well as Alcantara and perforated leather upholstery options.
The Citroen C5 Aircross is now available as a plug-in hybrid. It is powered by the PureTech 180 1.6L Turbo engine, which is now paired with a 13.2kWh battery pack, which powers an electric motor. The total power output of this unit is 222HP. The electric-only range of the 2022 C5 Aircross is 55 kilometres.
