BS6 Honda Jazz Commences Bookings Open
2020 Honda Jazz compliant BS6 bookings have now opened nationwide. It has already been made very clear to us that we will not be getting the BS6 Honda Jazz diesel version. So Honda modified the petrol powertrain and took advantage of the opportunity to mark the change, they even threw in some extra goodies. Though India won’t be getting the fourth-gen Honda Jazz anytime soon, buyers have to be happy with what’s only a facelift.
The luxury hatchback is available for Rs 21,000 at all Honda dealerships. According to the carmaker it can be booked with a sum of Rs 5,000 at all approved HCIL dealerships throughout the country or online via the company website.
The 2020 BS6 Honda Jazz will only feature petrol powertrain as we described earlier. It will retain the same 1.2-liter I unit in the outgoing model that performs the job. The engine could be slightly tweaked to meet the tougher emission standards. The 1.2-liter unit delivers 89bhp/110Nm. A five-speed manual, or a CVT, will be available. In addition to the new engine, Honda also provided it with a much-needed update on design and functionality.
The facelifted Jazz will come with a sleek and sporty exterior design featuring New High Gloss Black Grill with Chrome highlights, New LED Headlamp Advanced LED Kit (Inline Shell) with DRL, New LED Fog lights, Custom Rear LED Wing Light, and Newly-designed front and back bumpers.
In addition, the 2020 BS6 Honda Jazz will revolutionize the luxury hatchback market with the exclusive ‘One-Touch Electric Sunroof’ Segment and the luxurious comfort of both Manual and CVT Cruise Control, Intelligent Entry and Start/Stop Push Button.
It is the only car in its segment equipped with steering-wheel-mounted specific dual-mode “Paddle Shift” option for CVT variants that accounted for nearly 70 percent of total Jazz sales on the market last year.
Speaking of the new Jazz, Honda Cars India Ltd. Senior Vice President and Director, Marketing & Sales, Mr Rajesh Goel said, “We are excited to open the bookings for the new Jazz scheduled to be launched later this month. The new Jazz will cater to consumers looking for the very best in the segment with its trendy sporty new look, excellent interior package, and market-unique One Touch Electric Sunroof.
He said, “We’ve witnessed Jazz customers showing a clear preference for petrol powertrains over the years. In response to this phenomenon, we decided to sell the New Jazz in both Manual and CVT variants exclusively in the petrol engine. We see fresh enthusiasm in the luxury hatchback segment with this new offering and a full festive season ahead of us.
The 2020 BS6 Honda Jazz continues to perform in the luxury hatchback segment against the likes of Maruti-Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, and Tata Altroz. It is speculated that the hatchback would be slightly more expensive than the predecessor, as it will go through the BS6 transition.
