Bentley Bentayga Speed Space Edition Unveiled
Mulliner, Bentley’s in-house bespoke division, has just unveiled the Space Edition, a one-of-a-kind Bentayga Speed. A customer at Bentley’s Orlando dealership commissioned the Space Edition.
The car is finished in a color called Cypress, which is a metallic grey with green undertones that recalls the first-generation Bentley Continental GT’s launch in 2003.
It also comes with Bentley’s Blackline Specification, which includes gloss black exterior trim. The car’s carbon fiber has been highlighted by an Orange Flame color that “takes inspiration from comet dust trails across the night sky,” according to Bentley.
The car’s interior features a Beluga and Porpoise styling option, custom tread plates depicting the planets of the solar system, and orange stitching on the bezels and upholstery. Bright orange accents can also be found on the gear lever and steering wheel.
The Bentley Bentayga Speed Space is said to be inspired by Florida’s Space Coast, home to the Kennedy Space Center and the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
The Bentley Bentayga Speed Space is powered by a 6.0-liter W12 engine that produces 634hp and 900Nm and sends power to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. This allows the luxury SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 306 kilometers per hour.
Bentley claims that its Mulliner design team has completed 100 requests so far this year, more than doubling the number of personalization requests from the previous year.
The Bentayga is currently the brand’s best-selling model, with over 28,500 units sold, and is expected to help the company set yet another record in 2021. Last year, the SUV accounted for 40% of the brand’s total sales.
In our market, Bentley currently offers the Bentayga, Flying Spur, and Continental GT. Bentley, on the other hand, has no new models planned for the near future.
