Bentley Bentayga EWB Launched At A Price Of INR 6 Crore
The new Bentley Bentayga EWB extended wheelbase from British luxury automaker Bentley has gone on sale in India for a starting price of Rs 6 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The SUV is also offered in Azure and First Edition, two upgraded configurations. It replaces the Mulsanne sedan, which was retired in 2020, as the marque’s flagship model and sits at the top of the Bentayga lineup.
The wheelbase of the Bentayga EWB is 180mm longer, with the majority of the extra room going to the passenger area behind the back seat. It has minor visual alterations and a twin-turbo V8 petrol engine as its power source.
With the longer wheelbase variant, the chauffeur-driven customer is obviously in the spotlight. Customers have a choice of 4- or 5-seat configurations, as well as a new “4+1” option that sandwiches a tiny jump seat between two bigger rear seats. Although the Bentayga EWB is longer, Bentley does not provide a seven-seat option; nonetheless, the option is available on the basic Bentayga.
In its Airline Seat standard, the Bentayga EWB has a novel climate seat that monitors an occupant’s body temperature and surface humidity and modifies the airflow and temperature as necessary. Additionally, it has postural adjustment, which modifies the pressure points and seating posture of the users to improve comfort.
The front passenger seat may be moved forward for more space, and the backseats can recline by up to 40 degrees. Additionally, the Bentayga EWB features heated and cooled rear armrests as well as foldable footrests. Rear-seat occupants may operate a number of rear-seat features via a specialised portable touchscreen. The back doors also have power assistance.
New, luxurious trim choices include exquisite diamond quilting, a perforation pattern on the doors that is illuminated by LEDs, and an independent ionization system for the back seats.
A new vertically slatted grille and new polished 22-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels are the only external changes.
The Bentayga EWB now only has a 4.0-liter V8 engine with 550 horsepower available in India. In some countries, a plug-in hybrid engine is also offered for the long-wheelbase Bentayga. The SUV’s 4.0-liter engine has a peak speed of 290kph and can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 4.6 seconds.
Rear-wheel steering is available on the Bentayga EWB, which dramatically decreases the SUV’s turning radius and enhances high-speed stability. The EWB’s 11.8-meter turning circle is really 0.6 meters closer than the normal wheelbase model’s.
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the Bentayga EWB’s closest competition, with an estimated price of Rs 6 crore (Rs 6.95 crore). However, there is just one wheelbase option available for the Cullinan. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS and the more expensive Range Rover LWB are other competitors of the Bentayga EWB. Both of these SUVs are considerably less expensive than the Bentley, though.
