2021 Lexus ES Launched At Rs 56.65 Lakh
The redesigned Lexus ES luxury vehicle has been released in India, with prices starting at Rs 56.65 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The ES is still available in two versions: Exquisite and Luxury (Rs 61.85 lakh). The new ES is Rs 10,000 more expensive than the previous model, however, it has modest cosmetic modifications and more features.
Beginning with the exterior, the changes in the 2021 automobile are minor. It has the latest version of Lexus’ signature spindle grille, as well as new design alloy wheels and adjusted LED headlamps. Sonic Chrome and Sonic Iridium are two new paint colours for the upgraded ES.
The cabin receives modest updates as well, the most prominent of which being the redesigned centre console. The free-standing infotainment display is now closer to the passengers and has touchscreen functionality, while the lower-level control surfaces have also been updated.
The ES’s original cream upholstery is replaced with black upholstery, as well as new walnut trim inserts.
The new touchscreen is the largest addition to the ES in terms of equipment, with the rest of the list remaining largely unchanged. The sedan comes with a sunroof, three-zone climate control, a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, head-up display, motorised front seats with memory, hands-free trunk lid opening, and more, depending on the model.
The 2021 Lexus ES is exclusively available with a petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain, just as the pre-facelift model. The system combines a 178hp 2.5-litre petrol engine with an 88kW permanent magnet electric motor, similar to the Toyota Camry’s sister model. The total system output of the powertrain is 218hp. A CVT gearbox is standard, and it transmits power to the wheels.
The 2021 Lexus ES competes against well-known German rivals like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, and BMW 5 Series.
