2020 Honda WR-V facelift to launch in India on July 2
Honda Car India has announced that it will disclose prices for the WR-V facelift on 2 July 2020. Since of the coronavirus pandemic, the launch of the 2020 WR-V facelift has postponed considerably and is now planned to take place online only.
Visually, the 2020 WR-V gets a small update that makes it possible to keep the product fresh. New design features include more prominent front bumper creases, the new horizontal slat grille and updated headlights for LED projectors and taillights for LEDs. The WR-V will also get roof rails, 16-inch alloy wheels, and LED DRLs as before.
There are not expected to be many changes in terms of features; the most obvious differences in updated fabric patterns and upholstery will be seen. For the 2020 WR-V-SV and VX-only two trim lines are expected to be available – both will be well-kitted.
It is expected that the entry-level WR-V SV will have features such as dual front airbags, a rear defogger, a rear parking camera, 16-inch alloy wheels, projector headlights, LED DRLs, driver’s seat height adjustment, power-folding, and adjustable ORVMs, power windows, automatic climate control, 7.0-inch Digipad 2.0 touchscreen infotainment display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility and SD card compatible.
A rear wiper LED headlights, taillights and fog lights, a front center armrest, cruise control, keyless entry and exit, a leather-wrapped steering, and a controlled sunroof are fitted to the top-spec WR-V VX.
The 2020 Honda WR-V is expected to be similar to the pre-facelift model, except for the major changes needed to meet BS6 emission norms.
The Amaze compact sedan already uses the 90hp, 1.2-liter petrol engine, and the 100hp, 1.5-liter diesel engine in BS6 form. Manual gearboxes are standard on both sides; unfortunately, the WR-V facelift does not offer an automatic option. The 2020 Honda WR-V is projected to be more fuel-efficient than compact SUV rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, and Mahindra XUV300, in diesel-manual mode.
Expect prices to rise to Rs 8.3-9.4 lakh for petrol WR-V over the outgoing model while diesel WR-V prices are forecast to rise in the Rs 9.7-10.8 lakh range. It is expected that a 3-year / unlimited kilometer warranty would be standard.
