New Citroen C4 revealed
Citroen took off the wraps of the all-new C4, a new high-riding hatchback that is replacing the C4 Cactus in the global line-up of the brand. The first images and preliminary details of the new model were published by the French manufacturer.
It is a fresh substitution to the C4 Cactus. Unlike its predecessor, the current C4 resumes its crossover approach but with a more slanted coupe-like roofline replete with some funky styling parts for which the brand is renowned.
Citroen has yet to announce specs and engine specifics for the new model, although we do know it will be offered with petrol, diesel, and electric powertrains, making it the first hatchback family in the stable of parent company PSA Group to sell a zero-emission option.
Citroen ‘s Advanced Comfort program features the new Citroen C4, which includes progressive hydraulic bump stops, a focus on comfortable seats, and a “bright, soothing” interior. Due to its “quiet operation, smoothness and driving sensation” the company said these qualities are amplified in the electric ë-C4.
From its predecessor, the interior sees a major change, with more upmarket fabrics and a bigger, wider touchscreen. The reintroduction of physical dials for heating controls tackles Citroen ‘s current device concerns that require power only via the phone. In the coming weeks, the company will announce the eC4, C4 petrol, and diesel specifications.
India plans for the Citroen C4 are not yet known but the French brand will enter our market early next year with the C5 Aircross. The signature model will keep Citroen dealerships going in the country before more mass-market models come along.
Additionally, the launch of its first “designed, developed, and manufactured in India” vehicle is on track and scheduled for later next year. This new model, known as a compact SUV (codenamed C21), will boast high levels of localization and will carry a competitive Indian price tag.
