Mahindra Spotted Testing Electric Version Of XUV 300.
Mahindra & Mahindra is one of the front runners in India’s electric vehicle space. Mahindra had showcased their range of new electric products at Auto Expo 2020. The company has plans to launch EV models of their popular SUVs such as the Bolero or the Scorpio, they are starting with eKUV100 and eXUV300.
The eXUV 300 was spotted for the very first time on Indian roads near Bangalore on Hosur Road. The vehicle wore heavy camouflage and was seen performing regenerative braking tests. The car is almost identical to it’s non-electric counterparts, just without a exhaust and redesigned front and rear bumpers with blue accenting on the bodywork and rims.
The eXUV 300 is based on Mahindra’s new MESMA 350 platform. The MESMA 350 platform has a 350V powertrain that supports electric motors with capacities between 60kW to 280kW, with battery capacity touching 80kwh. The platform was developed entirely by Mahindra.
CEO of Mahindra Electric, Mahesh Babu, hasconfirmed that the eXUV 300 will have a range of more than 370Kms. If Mahindra prices the SUV correctly then it will be a proper rival to the Tata Nexon EV. We expect the Mahindra eXUV 300 to hit the showrooms sometime in 2021.
