The updated Shine 100 complies with OBD-2 and can use E20 fuel (petrol with 20 percent ethanol blend).
The new bike will be the most reasonably priced Honda model available in India.
An entirely new 99.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 7.6hp and 8.05Nm at 6,000rpm powers the Shine 100.
According to the manufacturer, the Shine 100's engine has been optimised to give "better fuel efficiency" and is OBD-2 and E20 fuel compatible.
The Shine 100 comes with a three-year guarantee from Honda, which may be extended for an additional three years if desired.
With the new Shine 100, Honda hopes to expand its current 3.5 percent market share in rural areas.
The new Shine 100 is presently taking reservations, and production is scheduled to start the following month.
