Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 cruiser Launched At A Price Of INR 3.49 Lakh

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Cruiser has been released in three colour options, with the Astral being the most inexpensive at Rs 3.49 lakh, the Interstellar being the mid-range model at Rs 3.64 lakh, and the Celestial being the most expensive at Rs 3.79 lakh.

The base Astral comes in three single-tone colours: black, blue, and green, and it costs Rs 3.49 lakh. The mid-spec Interstellar has two dual-tone paint colours in grey and green, and it has a higher asking price of Rs 3.64 lakh, but other than that, the two vehicles are essentially similar. The big front windscreen, touring seat, and pillion backrest are included as standard equipment on the top-of-the-line Celestial, raising the price to Rs 3.79 lakh.

All of these attachments are backwards compatible with the Astral and Interstellar models, and RE’s extensive accessory selection will provide potential Super Meteor 650 consumers with even more options for fine-tuning and customization. According to Royal Enfield, these prices are not introductory. Bookings for the Super Meteor 650 may be made as of right now, and delivery will start on February 1.

We in India got to view the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Cruiser up close at Rider Mania late last year when RE also permitted participants to pre-book its flagship cruiser. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 was introduced to the globe at EICMA 2022. As opposed to the current 650 twins, the Super Meteor 650 features an all-new frame and two RE firsts in the shape of a robust 43mm Showa SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork – Big Piston) front fork and an LED headlamp.

Compared to the current 650 twins, the engine has undergone a few small changes. It now has a new airbox and exhaust system, and the tuning has also been updated. Due to adjustments in the final drive and a smaller 16-inch rear wheel, the overall gearing is a little shorter. Although the peak torque production occurs 500 rpm later in the rev range, the peak output figures—47 horsepower and 52 Nm—remain the same. According to RE, the Super Meteor 650’s peak torque is attained at just 2,500 rpm.

A 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm one at the back, both combined with dual-channel ABS, are responsible for stopping the vehicle. The Super Meteor 650’s seat height of 740mm inspires confidence, but its kerb weight of 241kg and its 135mm ground clearance do not. Here, a 15.7-litre petrol tank is available.

The Super Meteor 650 occupies a distinct market space at this price point. The performance advantage of the bigger Royal Enfield cannot be matched by bikes like the Rs 3.49 lakh QJMotor SRV 300 and the Rs 3.89 lakh Keeway (Benda) V302C, which costs Rs 10,000 more than the Super Meteor 650.

The flagship Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Cruiser significantly undercuts bikes with comparable power numbers or displacement. The Super Meteor costs around Rs 60,000 more than an Interceptor 650, although it is Rs 2.3 lakh and Rs 2.9 lakh less costly than the Benelli 502C and the Kawasaki Vulcan S, respectively.
