Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta Revealed

Aprilia has revealed the limited-run RSV4 XTrenta track-only superbike to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their first Grand Prix world championship victory. It is safe to assume that the one hundred lucky people who will be able to acquire one of the complete carbon fiber body Aprilia RSV4 XTrentas will be blown away by its incredible 230hp and light weight of 166kg (dry).

The RSV4 XTrenta draws on the popularity of Aprilia’s prior track-only limited-edition models, the RSV4 X (limited to 10 units) and the Tuono X (limited to 30 units), but will be produced in a somewhat higher quantity—100 units. The traditional red, white, and purple color scheme of the RS-GP MotoGP bike that Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori wore during the Austrian round of the MotoGP is used to finish this bike. It expands on the tried-and-true Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory superbike base and really cranks things up.

Power is increased to 230 horsepower (13 hp more than the regular RSV4 range) with the 1,099cc V4 engine’s higher compression ratio, free-flow Sprint air filter, and full-system titanium/carbon-fiber SC-Project exhaust. A radiator from the well-known racing brand Taleo Tecnoracing keeps this fire-breather of an engine cool.

What truly strikes out—more so than the boost in power—is the lightweight 166kg (dry) that it tops the scales at. This decrease has been made possible by a complete carbon-fiber fairing that includes not just the front and rear winglets but also the “spoon” beneath the swingarm, an aerodynamic addition developed from the RS-GP. All in all, this results in a 25 percent boost in downforce and a 4 percent decrease in drag. This bike’s forged magnesium Marchesini M7R Genesi rims aid to reduce unsprung mass by a significant 2 kg in addition to helping to reduce overall weight.

Braking equipment from Italian specialist Brembo keeps that enormous power under control. The GP4-MS billet machined monobloc calipers bite down on the XTrenta’s dual 330mm rotors. Pirelli slicks with a front tire with a section size of 120 and a rear tyre with a section size of 200 help it stays on the pavement. The suspension hardware is provided by Ohlins, but it has been modified in conjunction with Aprilia Racing experts by the Italian suspension company Andreani. From the normal RSV4 line, the fundamental chassis and swingarm are all retained.

This bike’s extensive array of rider aids is managed by a custom ECU created by Magneti Marelli. The switchgear, which is produced by the British company JetPrime switches, is similar to that seen on a racing vehicle. Footpegs, levers, and the fuel cap are all superb CNC billet-machined components, as one would anticipate from a machine of this calibre and pricing.

Although it is exceedingly doubtful that any of these race-spec vehicles would arrive here, the RSV4 XTrenta retails for Rs 40 lakh (without tariffs and taxes).
