Volvo 9600 Launched
After 20 years of success in India, Volvo has just debuted the Vovo 9600, a new generation of luxury buses. Inside and out, this bus is built to offer unsurpassed luxury and comfort. Its striking V-shaped headlamps add to the exterior, while the theatre floor and roomy berths in the sleeper carriage provide the interior with a sumptuous feel for the voyage. which come in 15 m 6*2 and 13.5 m 4*2 sleeper and seater coach variants, respectively. The state-of-the-art Hosakote plant, which has been producing completely completed Volvo premium buses since 2008, will construct the coaches on the Volvo 9600 platform.
The new Volvo 9600’s distinctive identity is derived from a comfort coach and a tastefully designed interior. It was built with a comprehensive design philosophy. The outside of the Volvo 9600 offers uninterrupted flow with little turbulence, reduced noise, increased stability, and a decrease in air resistance that saves fuel. The curving dashboard makes the driver’s workspace very apparent. With 40 sleepers and a 55-seat capacity, the couch is 15 metres long. The luggage capacity for the seater and sleeper applications is 15.1 cu m and 9.2 cu m, respectively. While the 13.5-meter coach seats can accommodate up to 47 passengers with a sleeper variation of 36 berths. The seater and sleeper versions each have 13.6 cu. m. and 8.1 cu. m. of luggage space, respectively.
A strong and fuel-efficient Volvo D8K (8-litre) engine provides the power for the Volvo 9600, producing 1350 nm of torque at 1200–1600 rpm and 350 hp at 2200 rpm. The fuel-efficient engine is designed to reduce the total cost of ownership and increase uptime for bus operators. The Volvo 9600 has an electronic braking system (EBS), hill-start assistance, and electronic stability programme (ESP) features. It also has an I-Shift automated manual gearbox.
