2022 Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP Launched At INR 34.99 Lakh
The 2022 Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP from Ducati India is now available in India for Rs 34.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The SP designation, which Ducati uses to designate a “production bike with specific technological equipment” that makes it faster on the track, stands for “Sport Production,” in case you were wondering.
The 2022 Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP weighs 196.5kg (kerb), which is roughly 2.5kg less than the Streetfighter V4 S. Use of lighter components allowed for the weight reduction. Strangely, the Streetfighter V4 SP for India comes with Marchesini forged magnesium wheels rather than the carbon rims that the bike has in other regions. Compared to the Streetfighter V4 SP’s forged aluminium wheels, these weigh 0.9 kg less. Inertia has been decreased by 26% at the front and 46% at the back of the motorcycle, according to Ducati, making turns easier and quicker. The adoption of a lithium-ion battery, a heel guard made of carbon fibre, and foot pegs made of anodized aluminium have all reduced weight.
The only visual difference between the bodywork and the Streetfighter V4 SP’s carbon-fibre mudguard. The bike has a remarkable appearance after being painted in the unique Ducati Corse Winter test colours. The Italian tricolour flag adds a unique aesthetic touch to the matte carbon bi-plane wings. The Streetfighter V4 SP will be sequentially numbered, which will increase the bike’s uniqueness.
The Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 electronic suspension is part of the same chassis that is used by the V4 SP and the V4 S. The SP employs the Panigale V4’s springs, with the fork spring preload reduced from 11mm to 6mm, and that is the sole difference. The new Brembo Stylema R monobloc brake callipers are advantageous for the SP as well. During a track day, these are claimed to provide higher stopping power throughout a number of laps.
The same 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine that powers the V4 S also powers the V4 SP. It produces 123Nm of torque at 9,500 rpm and 208 horsepower at 13,000 rpm. Its nine-disc STM EVO-SBK dry clutch is allegedly more effective at preventing hopping during quick downshifts.
The bike is projected to be expensive at Rs 34.99 lakh. For comparison’s sake, the Ducati Panigale V4 SP’s starting price at the time of its November 2016 launch was Rs 36.07 lakh.
Bookings for the brand-new Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP are currently being accepted at all Indian dealerships.
