2022 Honda CB300R BS6 Specification Leaked
The 2022 Honda CB300R is slated to return to the Indian market, but this time as a locally built motorcycle. Last month, the bike was unveiled during India Bike Week 2021, with a few differences from the BS4 version (brought in as a CKD). A slipper clutch, a new golden finish on the fork tubes, and MRF tires in place of the previous Michelins are also notable additions.
The type clearance documentation for the CB300R has now leaked, revealing some fascinating details. The 286cc single-cylinder engine on the BS4 bike produced 30.45hp at 8,000rpm, whereas the BS6 version will deliver 31.1hp at a higher 9,000rpm.
Because the 2022 Honda CB300R will have to meet higher pollution laws, it’s likely that Honda has tweaked the state of tune to keep as much performance as feasible. This is especially essential given that competitors like the BMW G 310 R and the KTM 390 Duke produce 34 and 43 horsepower, respectively.
We should be able to find out soon whether these adjustments have made the bike’s performance less useable than previously, given the bike is set to ship this month. The wheelbase has also increased marginally, from 1,344mm to 1,352mm, according to the paperwork. Since the new figure is the same as the bike now marketed in international markets, it’s unclear whether this has anything to do with the localization.
