5-seat Volkswagen Tiguan to be reintroduced in India.
With some great tricks in their mind, Volkswagen recently launched the 7-seat Tiguan Allspace 2.0 TSI in India by discontinuing the 5-seater Volkswagen Tiguan.
The recent news reveals that the discontinued 5-seater Volkswagen Tiguan will land on the Indian market later this year. It will get some major updates compared to the outgoing cars and will feature the BS6 norms. In fact, this will be the facelifted 2020 model.
Volkswagen plans to locally assemble the new 5-seater Tiguan in India just to reduce the taxes. The CKD kits will be assembled in the Allspace in Chakan Plant near Pune. The expected price of the Volkswagen Tiguan is Rs 23.26 lakh(ex-showroom).
There will be a visual differentiation between the 5-seater and Allspace variants. The facelifted 5-seater Tiguan will get a revised front profile with new grille revised bumpers and headlight similar changes will be done to the rear profile too. Fresh details on the front profile include a minimalist grille that blends well with the headlight cluster.
However, Volkswagen has not revealed a major difference over the previous Tiguan. With the discontinuation of the diesel version with the replacement of the 5-seater Tiguan, it has come up with 150hp and 1.5 TSI turbo-petrol engine. It also features front-wheel-drive version and 7-speed twin-clutch automatic gearbox
The Upgraded inside feature include a larger touchscreen, a digital cockpit or digital instrument cluster, and is expected to be the first VW car in India to offer connected car tech.
It is expected that the Tiguan may not have a strong start in India, but VW India has some smart tricks up their sleeves to make it work.
