2023 Hyundai Verna Launched At A Price Of Rs 10.90 Lakh
The 2023 Hyundai Verna has gone on sale, with initial prices beginning at Rs. 10.90 Lakh and rising to Rs. 17.38 lakh. The manufacturer started taking reservations last month, but according to the business, delivery won’t start until the first week of April 2023. Hyundai claims to have taken more than 8,000 reservations for the Verna, which comes with a 3-year, unlimited-mile guarantee.
With a length increase of 4,535 mm and a width increase of 1,765 mm, the all-new Verna is just slightly larger than its rivals. This places it at the top of the class in terms of wheelbase, and the little stretch gives passengers additional legroom. By comparison, the wheelbases of the new Honda City are 2600mm, the Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia are 2651mm, and the Hyundai Verna is 2670mm. The Verna now has more shoulder room than its rivals because of the size increase, which also gives it the segment’s largest boot (528 litres) and greatest breadth (1765 mm).
Since the Fluidic Verna debuted in 2011, launches of the Verna have always been eagerly anticipated, and this launch is no exception. The completely new Verna looks very little like its predecessor from the front and back. With an LED system that virtually covers the full width of the car, it has long, sweeping lines reminiscent of EVs.
The dashboard and door trims of the new Hyundai Verna include soft-touch materials, and the inside is dual-tone beige-black. A 64-color ambient light strip is available for the new Verna’s dashboard and door trims, and there is also an option to have the colour vary depending on the driving mode that is chosen.
The Verna has segment-first heated and ventilated front seats as well as front AC vents that are incorporated into the dashboard design. The climate control knobs, which are also infotainment controls located in the centre console, are one set of controls that can be switched between using the infotainment system and controlling the climate. Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist Control, Front Parking Sensors, and an Electrochromic Mirror are additional features that are available.
The all-new Verna is equipped with a brand-new 2-spoke steering wheel that has never been used on a Hyundai car before by Hyundai. To provide the driver functionality without taking their hands off the wheel, it has multi-function buttons with haptic feedback. Apart from English and Korean, the driver’s unit may show turn-by-turn directions in more than ten regional languages.
For audio and navigation, the 2017 Hyundai Verna has a large 10.25-inch colour TFT MID infotainment screen. Its entertainment system has Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Valet mode, and even over-the-air system upgrades. For further functionality, like turning on the air conditioning, opening the sunroof, turning on the ventilated seats, and many other things, this device allows voice commands in a combination of Hindi and English.
Hyundai is providing new Verna customers with three years of free Bluelink membership in terms of connected car technology. Bluelink has auto collision warnings, SOS calls, stolen vehicle immobilisation, geofencing, and even a monthly health report, to mention a few.
The all-new Verna is supported by a McPherson strut-type suspension up front and a torsion beam axle with a vertical shock absorber in the back, and it will come standard with six airbags, all four disc brakes, and ABS with EBD.
Like the new Honda City, some Verna models also come with ADAS. In addition to a front camera that is not provided by rivals, the Verna will incorporate front and rear radar detectors. With features like Forward Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane-Keep Warning and Assist Blind Spot Warning, and even a safe exit Warning to ensure that you don’t get run over when getting out of your car, the ADAS helps the driver.
The brand-new Verna will be offered in 7 colour choices, including Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, Starry Night, Titan Grey, Abyss Black, Atlas White, and Tellurian Brown, and 4 trim levels, including EX, S, SX, and SX (O).
Two engines are available for the brand-new Hyundai Verna, the first of which is a small 1.5l MPi Petrol engine with 115hp and 143.8 Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed manual and an intelligent variable transmission (IVT), with Hyundai stating that they will get 18.6 and 19.6 kilometres per gallon, respectively (IVT).
A sporty 1.5 l Turbo GDi Petrol engine from Hyundai is also available; it produces 160 horsepower and 253 Nm. This may be connected to a 7 Speed DCT with paddle shifters or a 6-speed manual transmission. With mileage estimates of 20 kmpl(MT) and 20.6 kmpl, Hyundai believes that this engine will be more efficient than normally aspirated powertrains despite being more powerful (DCT). The Verna does not come with a diesel engine from Hyundai.
When compared to the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and even the Honda City, these power statistics are best in class. As a result, it wasn’t shocking when several dealers disclosed that this model had received the most bookings when Hyundai made booking announcements earlier in February. Moreover, the turbo GDi is available in two special colour combinations: Fiery Red with a black roof and Atlas White with a black roof.
In Hyundai’s Chennai facility, the brand-new Verna will be made. India will serve as both a sales and export base for the Korean firm.
