The Mercedes-Benz AMG E53 4Matic+ is launched in India today at a price of Rs. 1.02 crore (ex-showroom). The 2022 E63 S 4Matic+ was also unveiled here, with a price tag of Rs. 1.70 crore (ex-showroom).
The E53 AMG is the second model in the ‘AMG 53 series’ to be offered in India, and it utilizes the latest E-Class design language. The AMG-specific radiator grille, LED headlights, and a fully revised front section are all standard on the performance sedan.
The split tail lamps have been restyled and are joined by a chrome trim strip. The rear apron has also been modified, and the car rides on 19-inch 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels.
It has Nappa leather AMG seats, an AMG Performance steering wheel, the Widescreen Cockpit with MBUX infotainment system, ambient lighting, and Mercedes I connect on the inside, among other things.
The engine is a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with 435 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque. The engine is aided by a 48 V electric system that adds 22 HP and 250 Nm of torque to the equation.
The engine’s power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission, and the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. With the AMG Ride Control+ suspension, the car comes with five drive modes as standard.
The AMG E63 S has a more striking design (that makes it look more like a muscle vehicle) and enhanced aerodynamics for the 2022 model year. The enormous radiator grille, which feeds air to cool the massive engine, makes it easy to spot.
The E63 S comes standard with 20-inch 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels in either matt black or high-gloss tantalum grey, as well as model-specific improvements such as mode toggles on the steering wheel.
The sports sedan is powered by a 4.0-liter dual turbocharged V8 that produces 612 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. The engine is equipped with cylinder deactivation and a 9-speed transmission.
With a 4-wheel drive, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach high speeds of 300 km/h with the Driver’s Package. Performance brakes (ceramic brakes are available) and a ‘Drift’ mode are also included (along with 5 other modes).
Mercedes also offers 2-year service packages for both vehicles. The E53 service pack costs Rs. 1.19 lakhs, while the E63 S service pack costs Rs. 1.35 lakhs.
