2021 MG Hector petrol CVT To Be Launched On February 11
Another Hector update will be issued by MG Motor India. A CVT gearbox will be added soon to 5-seat Hector petrol. On 11 February 2021, a price alert for the Hector petrol CVT will be released. The model is based on the new Hector, which debuted in India last month.
At present MG Motor India provides the Hector petrol either with a manual gearbox with 6 speeds or with an automatic DCT system. The company will be launching the Hector CVT gearbox option, which is presumably offered alongside the DCT model. The Wuling Almaz SUV from Hector, sold in Indonesia, already comes with a CVT gearbox.
The 2021 MG Hector petrol CVT comes with the same 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine and sits next to the two other variants, both manual and DCT. With a CVT gearbox, the first two versions of Hector, Super, and Sharp, are available. According to distributors, the CVT fitted Hector petrol is sold as cities-friendly SUVs by MG Motor India, while DCT targets consumers wanting more highway travel because the equipment can be jerky on low city speed.
The fuel-efficient CVT gearbox is also supposed to be smoother as compared to the DCT. The first car in its segment to sell two automatic gearboxes in the same market would be the Hector petrol CVT. More details will be revealed in the coming days.
Hector Petrol CVT 5-seater is going to contend on the Indian market with Hyundai Crete, Kia Seltos, and Nissan Kicks.
