2021 Kia Carnival MPV Makes Official Debut In South Korean Market
Current Kia Carnival is the 3rd generation variant, sold since 2014. Kia has now officially taken wraps off the luxurious MPV, after teasing the 4th gen Carnival for the past few weeks. Unveiled today in Korea, by next year, it is expected to make its way into several countries across the globe.
2021 Kia Carnival MPV is 40 mm longer and lies 30 mm longer on the wheelbase. It helps the passengers to have more room at the bottom. Cargo space was expanded to 2,905 liters, all seats folded (except front seats). It offers several seating configurations. This requires three rows or four rows. You can either seat 7, 8, or 11 passengers depending on size.2021 Kia Carnival gets Premium Relaxing Seats for second-row passengers with adjustable back, arm, and leg rest to offer more luxury. In terms of technology, we also see updates. 2021 Kia Carnival is given a new dashboard concept featuring two large screens. They are a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment device.
Kia will also be providing the ‘Kia Live’ services offering traffic density statistics, weather alerts, en-route places of interest, and parking slots available. Use the ‘Rear Passenger View and Speak’ feature, front passengers who want to interact with those at the rear can do so. This is possible through a small camera that is connected to the infotainment device. Another new feature to be seen on the Kia Sedona will be a one-button smart open/close sliding doors and tailgate system for rear power.
Kia is introducing a new Carnival with various engine options in Korean markets. It will include a 2.2-liter Smartstream diesel engine which produces 199 hp and 440 Nm torque. It would also obtain its power from a 3.5-liter MPi petrol engine with 268 hp and 332 Nm torque and a 3.5-liter GDi V6 diesel engine with 290 hp and 355 Nm torque capability. The 8-speed automatic transmission can suit each of these engine options. Offering no manual transmission.
New Carnival launch expected in Korea later this year. In 2021 it will be entering more countries. Given that India has the current gene Carnival, which performs decently in sales – the business may also be launching the latest gene Carnival here.
