2021 Honda CB1300s Unveiled
While the majority of producers attempt, with earth-shattering levels of performance, advanced electronics, and razor-sharp looks, to build motorcycles, Honda took the wraps off 2021 Honda CB1300s Super Four, CB1300 Bol D’or. Both motorcycles in retro-style are trying to keep the Universal Japanese Motorcycle size alive. Honda introduced its SP models as well as these ‘ordinary’ motorcycles. But the sad thing is, we can’t swing our legs on this beauty, because they’re just confined to Japan.
Honda has retained the philosophy of design and that is the power of simple things, basic in nature, but also hit hard because they instilled a sense of nostalgia. And these beauties are doing that. From front to back the lines flow smoothly.
Bol D’or has half a tinted windscreen and an overall visual flair with their golden rims. The look is authentic and dates back to the 1980s. Even the classics are best left as they were. It is not important to tackle the design of some motorcycles to make them look new. Some motorbikes are designed to recall the years that have passed. And that is what is unique about these motorcycles. You won’t look into the future, but with a touch of nostalgia.
These beauties are powered by a 1,284cc inline-four, liquid-cooled, 4-valve per capita, a DOHC 110PS, and 118Nm pumped engine. The gearbox contains a six-speed slip-and-assist clutch operated unit. The ratio of compression is 9.6:1. The statistics may not be boring, particularly if we put into the equation the huge inline-four engine, but that’s the whole catch. The lap records are not broken by these machines. The efficiency is more than adequate to move these devices comfortably and gracefully around!
The simple telescopic fork and twin shocks are treated with standard versions. Nissin’s twin-piston, floating calipers are not even braking devices. But the SP is a little blurred with the use of Ohlins and much more adjustable. Brembo monobloc calipers are also braking devices. All four motorcycles will have their official prices set on 21 December!
