2020 Mahindra Thar Diesel Recalled -1577 Units
Mahindra has announced a voluntary recall for the Thar and will be inspected free of cost.
The manufacturer claims that only 1,577 units of 2020 Mahindra Thar Diesel to be Recalled, which were produced between 7 September and 25 December 2020. The primary explanation for the retract is because of a fault in the setting up of the engine at the camshaft supplier’s factory.
In order to check their vehicles and rectify this voluntarily, Mahindra will contact owners of Thar Diesel SUVs, which have been built between the above dates. Mahindra also states that this action complies with the SIAM Voluntary Vehicle Code in India.
The Thar has been an immediate success and saw its waiting times rise right from its business launch in October last year. Depending on the variety and color, the current waiting time for Thar in some cities is over ten months.
A 152hp, 2,0-liter turbo-petrol, and a 132hp, 2.0-liter Turbo-diesel engine options are available for the Mahindra Thar. Both the engines receive a 6 speed automatic and a 6-speed manual gearbox option. The Thar receives a regular 4×4 system and a low-ratio manual-shift case.
